Biography
Mr. Cheung was admitted as a solicitor in 2020 and, in recognition of his professional growth and contribution to the firm, was promoted to Senior Associate in 2025.
Mr. Cheung is a versatile and dependable core member of our General Practice team. He has developed a broad and well-rounded practice across both civil and criminal litigation, with substantial hands-on experience in handling contentious matters from the early stages of client consultation through to court proceedings and enforcement. He is also a listed practitioner on the Legal Aid Panel of the Legal Aid Department.
Experience
Over the years, Mr. Cheung has handled a wide range of matters, including but not limited to the following:

Building Disputes & Water Seepage:
Mr. Cheung has handled more than one hundred water leakage and building management disputes, many of which involved complex investigation, expert evidence, repair obligations, nuisance claims and disputes between neighbouring owners, occupiers and management parties.
He has successfully assisted clients in obtaining mandatory injunctions requiring defendants to carry out remedial repair works, together with damages relief covering repair costs, loss of rental income, nuisance and other consequential losses.

Divorce and Matrimonial Matters:
Mr. Cheung regularly assists parties in matrimonial proceedings, including applications for Decree Absolute and the resolution of sensitive family disputes involving custody, care and control, access arrangements and ancillary relief. He adopts a practical and measured approach in helping clients navigate emotionally challenging proceedings while protecting their legal interests.

Bankruptcy, Winding-up and Contentious Insolvency:
Mr. Cheung has experience acting for creditors in bankruptcy and winding-up proceedings, assisting clients in pursuing statutory demands, bankruptcy orders and winding-up orders against debtors. His work in this area involves strategic handling of debtor responses and effective progression of recovery actions.

Money Lenders / Mortgagee Actions:
Mr. Cheung advises and acts for money lenders and mortgagees in debt recovery and enforcement proceedings, including applications for monetary judgment and possession orders against defaulting borrowers and mortgagors. He is familiar with the procedural and evidential requirements required to advance such claims efficiently and effectively.

Employees’ Compensation and Personal Injury:
Mr. Cheung also handles employees’ compensation and personal injury claims, assisting clients with claims arising from workplace accidents, bodily injuries and related compensation issues.

Construction Disputes:
Mr. Cheung assists contractors, employers and other parties in construction-related disputes, including claims for outstanding payments arising from construction projects. His experience includes pursuing unpaid sums, reviewing contractual obligations and advising clients on practical recovery strategies.

Criminal Litigation:
Mr. Cheung has experience in handling criminal investigations conducted by the Police, the Independent Commission Against Corruption, the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong and the Immigration Department. He also assists in criminal litigation involving a broad spectrum of offences in Hong Kong, including but not limited to traffic offences, dangerous drugs offences, immigration offences, customs-related offences and other serious criminal matters.

Non-Contentious Matters:
In addition to his contentious practice, Mr. Cheung advises on a wide range of non-contentious matters, including landlord and tenant disputes, company disputes, wills and probate, sale and purchase of property, tenancy matters, conveyancing transactions, company secretarial work, money service operator licensing, matters under the Pyramid Schemes Prohibition Ordinance (Cap. 617) and applications under Part II of the Mental Health Ordinance (Cap. 136). His breadth of practice enables him to provide clients with practical, commercially sensible and client-focused advice across different areas of law.
