Biography
Mr. Yip first graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He was admitted as a Solicitor of the High Court of Hong Kong in 2001. He took and completed all taught courses of the LL.M. of Renmin University of China in 2002–2003. Since 2016, he has been appointed by the Ministry of Justice of the People’s Republic of China as a China-Appointed Attesting Officer.
Mr. Yip has extensive experience in legal practice. Before he qualified, Mr. Yip acted as a Court Prosecutor undertaking criminal prosecution work. He also worked as an Assistant Legal Manager in a group of companies listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, spending over five years in PRC-related and local legal work, during which he was actively involved in incorporating and providing legal support to over ten PRC foreign-investment enterprises and Sino-foreign equity and cooperative joint ventures of the group.
Prior to joining KCL & Partners in February 2019, Mr. Yip had been a Partner and subsequently the Principal of Messrs. Yip & Liu (having ceased its over 12 years’ practice in 2019), a small-sized but decent law firm committed to providing high quality service to clients.

Since his admission, Mr. Yip’s practice has covered corporate and general commercial work, China attesting and PRC-related work, contract, employees’ compensation and personal injury claims, civil and criminal litigation, probate, tenancy, conveyancing and property-related disputes, torture claims and judicial review.
