Mr. Yam has demonstrated exceptional competence in the areas of litigation, particularly commercial litigation, and criminal practice. His work on complex commercial disputes involving not only company law but also matrimonial law reflects a strong grasp of legal principles, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to ethical practice.
Experience
•
In a High Court Company Winding-up case, Mr. Yam as the handling solicitor of KCL to represent an intervener to to join the proceedings to contest a declaration of voidness and invalidity of a Sale and Purchase Agreement made between the Intervener as a purchaser and the Company (In compulsory liquidation) as a seller for a piece of land situated in the PRC, and as a result the application for such a declaration was dismissed;

Mr. Yam had acted for a mortgagee to apply for an order for sale of a entire hotel building for a claim amount over HK$400,000,000;
•
Mr. Yam had acted for casino clients to recover a gambling debts in Hong Kong, one of which the claim amount is over HK$11,000,000 that involved a number of issues of misrepresentation, mistake and illegality, and a judgment was granted in favour of the casino after a full trial; and
•
Mr. Yam had recently handled a claim over USD12,000,000 involving equitable linked notes in pre-IPO and obtained an award in his client’s favour throught abitration proceedings

Mr. Yam is a Rotarian and a Council Member of the Society of Hong Kong Small and Medium Law Firms.
